Culinary Training and Teaching Courses
Beyond a one-night class: structured training that builds real kitchen skills, for home cooks and for professional kitchen teams.

Learn to cook like a working chef
Some people want a fun night. Others want to actually get better. Culinary training is built for the second group: a series of sessions that builds on itself, from knife skills and heat control to sauces, proteins and putting a full menu together.
For home cooks, training runs in your kitchen or live on Zoom, one-on-one or in a small group, with practice between sessions. It suits anyone who wants confidence in the kitchen, from new cooks to people preparing to host bigger meals.
For restaurants and food businesses, kitchen staff training is available as a paid option through Apex Table Co., my restaurant consulting company, covering technique, consistency, station setup, prep systems and food safety habits, drawing on more than 30 years in kitchens.
Multi-session courses are bookable now. Topics include knife skills and prep, sauces and reductions, the art of plating, and custom courses built around the techniques you want; each course is adjusted for experience level, group size, kitchen space, dietary needs and length. Online courses are available nationwide. Tell me what you want to learn and I will put together a plan.
